Barrus Real Estate Group is a boutique investment management firm which provides various real estate investments in the form of syndication membership. We seek to acquire and reposition well-located multifamily rental properties in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States, with a focus on the Baltimore, Maryland market and surrounding submarkets.
Founded in 2005, we've assisted our exclusive list of clients with investments in high-performing small multifamily investments in the mid-Atlantic metropolitan region. Through in-depth analysis of rental housing supply-and-demand, detailed future projections, and identification and acquisition and repositioning of mostly off market and undervalued projects, we consistently maintain high returns and increasing equity, year after year.
We lower risk by focusing our acquisitions in the densely populated areas that have statistically high household incomes and low unemployment rates. The properties we acquire typically are undervalued (under-rate rents, empty space, etc.), which allows us to purchase at a low price and then raise value by adding that value back into the project. Additionally, to prevent vacancy and keep returns high, all of our properties are located within the vicinity of a recession-proof market, such as a college or university, major employer, or major federal government installation.

Since each of our Investments has limited room for Members, we treat each and every Investor like one of our family, which is one of the reasons for our long-term buy and hold mentality. Our investment strategy is to buy the right property the first time, pay down, refinance and enjoy a long term cash flow from our investments.
